E-waste Management

At Antarctica Equipment, we are committed to promoting a cleaner and more environmentally conscious world through our E-Waste Management initiative. It's our way of showing our concern for the planet and its well-being. We encourage all our valued customers to join us in this movement by responsibly contributing their unusable or non-repairable products fit for discarding for recycling.

E-waste, as defined, encompasses "waste electrical and electronic equipment, whether whole or in part, rejected from their manufacturing and repair process, intended for disposal." Electrical and electronic equipment is classified as "equipment dependent on electrical currents or electromagnetic fields for functionality." On the other hand, "end-of-life product" refers to a product that is non-operational or non-repairable.

Antarctica Equipment E-Waste: A Responsible Approach

Antarctica Equipment E-waste encompasses any refrigeration product or accessory that is no longer usable. For example, old and defective products such as freezers and chillers which have reached the end of their operational life.

Benefits of Recycling Old Refrigeration Products:

Recycling end-of-life products plays a crucial role in the following ways:

  1. Resource Conservation: Recycling valuable materials from e-waste helps conserve our depleting natural resources.

  2. Environmental Protection: Properly disposing of e-waste through scientific methods reduces ecological pollution, preventing environmental and human health damage.

Negative Consequences of Improper Disposal

Improper disposal of products can have adverse effects, including:

  1. Non-Organic Materials: Materials used in e-waste manufacturing can mix with the environment, leading to health issues.

  2. Oil & Gases: E-waste items like compressors may release oil and gases, contributing to environmental pollution.

  3. Plastic Burning: Burning plastic components in open areas can lead to air pollution.

Compliance with Regulations:

In India, the Central Government has implemented the E-Waste (Management and Handling) Rules 2011, guided by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Antarctica Equipment is committed to adhering to these rules and has partnered with a CPCB-authorized e-waste recycler for the appropriate disposal of e-waste products.
